Almost all wild lion live in Africa, but there is one small population that exists elsewhere. Panthera le oleo (African lion) is found in Africa south of the Sahara desert, while Pathera leo persica (Asiatic lion) exist in the Gir Forest National park in Western India The Global White Lion Trust continues to ensure the survival of this crucial species in Southern Africa.
