About Spirit Education Foundation

The Spirit Education Foundation is a nonprofit organisation that offers scholarships to economically disadvantaged high school scholars. Building our nation through education one scholar at a time, the Spirit Education Foundation offers financial support, mentorship, skills development and upliftment programme to all Spirit Scholars. The mentorship programme motivates scholars to achieve to the best of their ability academically and in all other aspects of their high school education, encouraging creativity, leadership and a good community awareness are some of the characteristics we nurture at SEF.

Who is eligible to apply?

  • Grade 6 in 2023
  • Gross Household income of less than R20Ā 000 (beforeĀ deductions)
  • Achieved a code 6 or more forĀ Mathematics, English Home
    Language and Natural Science
  • Intend on applying to and attending one of our partnership High Schools.

Our Programme

Scholar Financial Support

Financial Support included in the spirit scholarship:

  • High school fees
  • Payment towards academic support
  • Contribution school uniform
  • Contribution towards stationery
  • Payment towards subject specific stationery
    (eg: EGD, art supplies)

Scholar Support

Our mentorship programme uses an individualised approach to create an enrichment support plan that is tailored for a scholarā€™s specific needs. Individual and intentional communication allows for a proactive approach so that we can reach each and every scholar where they are at. We meet with scholars, families and schools on a regular basis to offer a holistic programme that assists with academics, emotional well-being and skills development whilst building relationship.
