Laying the foundations for lifelong learning

At Spirit Foundation, we believe that a child’s early years are the cornerstone of their future success. We provide safe, nurturing, and stimulating environments for young children from underserved communities through our Early Childhood Development initiatives in Bonnievale, including the Bonnie People and Kapteintjies centres.

Our centres serve as more than just schools — they are places where children feel loved, supported, and encouraged to dream big. With a strong focus on early literacy, numeracy, social-emotional development, and creative play, our programme equips children aged 2–5 with the skills and confidence needed for a smooth transition to formal schooling.

We follow the nationally aligned Leer en Leef curriculum, which is enriched with music, storytelling, outdoor exploration, and group activities. Each classroom is supported by trained educators and passionate assistants who work to create inclusive, structured environments that prioritise joy and developmental growth.

Accessibility is a key priority. Our Early Childhood Development centres collaborate closely with local organisations, government departments, and parents to ensure no child is left behind. We provide affordable fees, safe transportation options, and ongoing community involvement to make early learning accessible to all.

We understand the importance of a strong start. With the support of donors, volunteers, and community champions, we are building something far greater than classrooms—we are shaping the future, one child at a time.
