Jakes Gerwel Technical High School understands that in South Africa, the final qualification of 88% of all learners is basic education. 9 out of 10 South Africans try to find a job and make a living only with what they have learnt at school. JGT offers various career aligned streams of learning, as well as a complete learn and work exposure that will assist them in becoming partakers of the economy after school. We take them places, expand their worlds, give them a taste of the workplace, and coach them work ethics.
We do not stop looking out for our youth once they leave school as many needs assistance to take a sure next step, whether it is tertiary studies, learnerships, job readiness programs, upskilling, entrepreneurship, or employment. Many youth have been successfully placed and are still being mentored ongoingly through Bonnievale418’s various programs.
