Meet the Spirit Education Foundation Team

Dr. Armand Bam – Managing Director of The Spirit Foundation

Dr Armand Bam completed his secondary schooling at Plumstead High School and thereafter his undergraduate degree in Human Movement Science and honours degree in Biokinetics at Stellenbosch University. He subsequently completed a Diploma in Project Management at Varsity College and Post Graduate Diploma in Management Practice at The University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business. Following this, he completed a Master’s degree in Disability Studies at UCT and completed his PhD at the Graduate School of Business in 2018.

 

 

Saskia Wiese – Programme Facilitator

A graduate of Stellenbosch University, Saskia Wiese qualified with a BCom in Management Science, Post Grad Certificate in Education, Honours in Education support, as well as a certificate in NPO Management. Saskia gained unique experience as an Education Support Specialist at Metro South Education District. Working at SEF is literally her dream job where she is able to combine her passion for education and youth with her experience in business management.

 

 

Nzele Omari – Programme Facilitator

Once a Spirit scholar at Immaculata RC High School, now a proud alumna, Nzele went on to study Human Resources Management Degree at Cape Peninsula University of Technology and graduated in 2018. In 2021, Nzele received a certificate in NPO Management. She worked as a youth camp facilitator while studying and developed a passion for helping young people thrive and overcome challenges.

 

 

Courtney Kalis – Programme Facilitator

Courtney Kalis matriculated from Reddam House and went on to complete a four-year Bachelor of Education Degree through the University of Stellenbosch, followed by a Remedial Education qualification through the University of Johannesburg. She has had teaching experience in various schools around the Western Cape, as well as educational support involvement through community impact projects and private teaching.
