To address some of the misconceptions about blindness, and to educate children on important principles to keep in mind when interacting with or meeting someone who is blind/visually impaired, LOFOB invites schools to participate in our BOBO Bear Competition. BOBO Bear is the mascot of LOFOB’s Early Childhood Development (ECD) programme. Competition entrants are required to produce a tactile representation of BOBO Bear, thereby educating children on the importance of the use of the other senses, particularly the sense of touch, for people who are blind and visually impaired in their daily lives. The schools’ competition runs throughout the months of August and September. Competition winners will be announced on Thursday 12 October 2023, which is World Sight Day!
