League of Friends of the Blind is making a profound difference in the lives of children and youth in need of vision support. Through the tireless efforts of its dedicated team, they are providing life-changing interventions to those facing visual impairments.
In June alone, LOFOB was able to ensure that 37 children are now receiving the comprehensive assessment, therapy, and education support they require. Their team of experts has developed individualised treatment plans to address each child’s unique needs, ensuring they have the tools and resources to thrive.
In addition to their ongoing support, they have screened three new children and youth referred to their programme, ranging in age from 5 to 19 years old. These initial assessments are crucial in identifying the specific challenges they face and developing a roadmap for their future care. LOFOB was also able to reach 56 members of schools and community organisations, including the Paarl community, with vital information on blindness, early identification, and prevention.
Through their awareness and outreach programmes, they are empowering individuals to recognise the signs of visual impairment and take proactive steps to address them. These achievements are a testament to the dedication of their team. By investing in the well-being of children and youth with visual impairments, we as community members, are not only transforming individual lives, but also strengthening the fabric of our individual communities.
As LOFOB moves forward, they remain committed to expanding their reach and deepening their social impact.
With continued support, LOFOB is able to continue providing life-changing interventions, raise awareness, and advocate for the rights of those facing visual challenges.
Together, we can create a world where every child and youth has the opportunity to reach their full potential, regardless of their visual abilities. Thank you for your generosity and for being a part of this transformative journey.
