LOFOB: Parent Focus

We facilitate our next parent support group. At our support group meeting this month, the focus is on orientation and mobility. We will also explore and share information about the various assistive devices available for children who are blind and visually impaired. The session aims to equip parents of blind and visually impaired children with valuable information and strategies they can make use of when supporting their child’s orientation and mobility skills development. Orientation and Mobility definition: Orientation skills enable children who are blind and visually impaired to use sensory information in order to know their position/location in various settings/environments/spaces. Mobility skills enable children who are blind and visually impaired to travel/mobilise/move in various settings/environment/spaces.
