Kennedy In August, our learners embarked on an exciting journey as they explored the theme “People Who Help Us”. This captivating topic highlighted various professions and the countless ways they make life easier for all of us. It was a time for our learners to dream big and imagine the incredible futures that lie ahead of them. At the Spirit Foundation, we firmly believe that our learners are capable of achieving greatness. Exposing them to a wide array of professions they could aspire to is a crucial first step in helping them reach their full potential and strive for a brighter tomorrow. It is also a vital opportunity to emphasise the importance of their education and the transformative power it holds in opening doors for them. We are incredibly fortunate to live in a community that deeply cares for the well-being of our youngest members. Finding professionals willing to join our career day was a testament to the generosity and dedication of our community members. On Thursday, August 1st and Friday, August 2nd, the learners dressed up as the professionals they aim to become one day, brimming with excitement and enthusiasm. The highlight of the event was the visit from Bonnievale SAPS, and the Langeberg Fire Department. These remarkable organisations shared their knowledge and experiences, captivating the learners with stories of how they help people in their daily lives. The learners were thrilled to investigate a real police van and even spray the school gardens with water from the fire truck! Career day was an overwhelming success, filled with cherished memories and invaluable lessons. It was a day that reminded us all of the immense potential that lies within each and every child, and the importance of nurturing their dreams and aspirations. As we move forward, let us continue to invest in our children, for they are indeed the world’s most valuable resource and our best hope for a brighter future. Together, let us empower them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to soar and make a lasting impact on our world.
