Care For Wild: Moms and Babies

The Rangers have spent years earning the trust and privilege to walk amongst these magnificent creatures. Our Rhino Monitors know each rhino as well as they know their own family, and the rhinos know them. They can identify a sick rhino by the subtlest changes in behaviour.

New rhino moms even bring their babies to meet their protectors. It is a blessing to witness. Care for Wild Rhino Monitors walk with these gentle giants every day, and we are profoundly grateful to them. Wyntir and Rainbow, as well as River and Sage, have officially rejoined the crash after giving birth to their second calves earlier this year.

As you can see, the Rangers are part of their lives from the day they are born, and Wyntir and River trust the protection of their little ones to the Rangers completely. The newest additions to the crash are settling well, and it is an absolute joy to drive into the Intensive Protection Zone and see so many moms with their babies.
